At the age of 17, Michelle Lau was a licensed real estate salesperson in New York, by the age of 21, she was a certified travel agent, licensed electrolysist and licensed Realtor in New York and Hawaii. At the age of 22, she designed & manufactured the first sand resistant beach bag. In 1996, Michelle also worked as a Hawaiian Airline’s flight attendant for 6 year, before selling her beach bag company & pursuing a full time career in real estate. During her career, she successfully launched & helped introduce the first fee for service real estate agency to the Hawaiian Islands and as the owner/BIC of Estates Honolulu, she created and launched a unique program called The Homebuyers Wedding and Gift Registry. She holds an ABR , ASP and a State of Hawaii Brokers license.
In 2006, Michelle retired from the real estate industry to pursue a career as a professional poker player. Michelle co-founded FIDPA (Federation Internationale de Poker Association) with Marcel Luske "The Flying Dutchman," to unite the poker industry & promote fairness. In 2008, she wrote “The International Poker Rules," the first standardized set of fully modifiable tournament poker rules and created the FIDPA endorsement program. Michelle has had many final table appearances and victories throughout the US and Europe and has played and taught many of the world's top celebrities and athletes.
Today, she continues to travel the world playing poker, is a recent MBA Graduate, a consultant for the gaming industry and holds a Nevada Gaming License, as an Independent Casino Rep. Michelle is also actively involved with many local, national and international charity organizations.
